A Going Home Service vs A Funeral | 1 Minute Daily Message
Minister Angela Ballard
Zion Baptist Church Noonday Bible Study
It’s a going home celebration, that we’ve come to uplift the fact that this person through God’s grace and mercy was born again, saved, and now it’s going to be with the Lord for eternity. Amen. So that’s what makes the difference. The funeral is usually somber, not that the going home services are not somber, but we should be celebrating as we are mourning, as we are going through, we’re going to miss them. But we’re so glad, okay, that they knew the Lord. We’re so glad that they received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. At a funeral, it’s a different kind. There’s a hopelessness. I don’t know where this person is going. And a lot of times even unsaved people want to believe that everybody’s going to heaven. Okay? That’s not written in the Bible.
